Nice to meet you

It has been so fun to introduce Knox to so many sweet friends!

 Lauren and Knox

Lauren and I have known each other since highschool youth group about---a LOT--of years!
We've been together at UGA and in China (with and without kids!) Love having done so many stages of life together!

Nikki and Knox

Nikki and Jeremy came to meet Knox in the middle of their move to another state. We met them in Summerville, and although neither of us are there anymore, I am so thankful that God allowed our paths to cross! So thankful for their friendship!

Grandma

We had a great time celebrating Christmas in Augusta. The kids had fun playing outside and LOVED using their new laser guns they got from KK and Papa!
Grandma (matt's grandma) got to snuggle with her youngest great grandchild--and Knox loved it!
Andi and Scotty came for a night, so it was fun to catch up and see Logan.

We are so thankful for Grandma. She is an amazing woman of God. Always encouraging, selflessly giving, sweetly laughing. We are so blessed to be able to a part of her life. My kids LOVE going to see her. Reid went to see her for a hug every day we were there.
Thankful for this time we got to spend with her.

One Week

Knox is one week old today!
We are thankful that he is here. Today being Christmas makes me think about how Mary must have felt when Jesus was born---so much emotion. Wow. So thankful.

Knox weighs about 6 lbs 10 oz I think.
He is nursing great! Praises!!
He eats every three hours all day. and night. I know--that's what they are supposed to do :)
The bigs LOVE him. I mean really, really, almost too much love him.
We had to make a chart for rotating who got to hold him when, to make sure it was fair.
He isn't really fussy yet.
Just a laid back sweet sweet sweet little one.
Love him.
blessed.

Cutest little elf!

SO thankful for this little elf this Christmas!!

Christmas Dinner

My sister and her family came over later Christmas Day to open presents and have dinner. We had a yummy dinner with ham, turkey, and all the trimmings. SO much easier to cook here than in China :)
The kids had fun playing with all their new toys and Maddie and Rylie loved feeding their baby dolls!

Cookies and pizza

We made cookies for Santa and homemade pizzas--our Christmas Eve tradition.
Knox slept through the whole thing--maybe he can participate next year!

Christmas Eve Service

Even though we really miss being at our house for this time of year, we really enjoyed getting to go to a Christmas Eve service at the church we attended in Atlanta when we lived here--Church of the Apostles. It was an adventure with a one week old, but what a sweet celebration of Christ's birth!

Christmas Lights

We went to dinner at Moes (Everett's favorite!) and walked around some Christmas lights in Smyrna Village. They were really great lights and the kids had a super time!
I drove around in the car with Knox because it was a bit too cold for a 5 day old :)

Lunch with family from Minnesota

Matt's Aunt Jeanette and cousin Liam were down this way for the holidays, so we got to have lunch with them on Saturday. They have an exchange student from Germany living with them this year, so we got to meet Jovan too! The boys loved talking to him about Germany and were in awe that he speaks 5 languages!

More family fun!

On Friday we went up to my sister's house to see my Aunt Lucille, who was in town visiting from Vermont. She is actually my great aunt, my Dad's aunt. We never get to see her, so it was so fun that she was here while we were in the States, and that Knox came early so she could meet him!

First day home

Seriously, these kids can. not. get enough of their baby brother. They want to hold him ALL the time.
It is so sweet, but if I get asked "how much longer until he is done eating?" one more time......
And we had to make a rotation list to make sure everyone gets the same amount of time holding him.
